Oregon’s Bounty is plentiful year-round; be it seafood from the Coast, pears from Southern, grass-fed beef from Eastern Oregon, grapes from the Willamette Valley, berries from Hood River, cheese from Southern or beer from one of the many hreweris in Greater Portland, produce from this great state is unparalleled. Learn how to cook with the state’s best produce at one of the many cooking schools throughout the state. After these hands-on experiences, you’ll walk away with a new skill set not to mention a full belly of delicious food.

Believe it or not, there’s more to the coast than a roaring sea, breathtaking basalt headlands and mouthwatering saltwater taffy. And when the weather gets misty and foggy, as it tends to do on the Oregon Coast, we like to retreat inside to indulge in another Oregon product—delicious food! At the Culinary Center in Lincoln City, learn how to create a gourmet feast using the best of the coast’s bounty. There are a handful of classes for varying skill levels offered here year-round that use only locally grown and locally raised foods. Just be careful, the cooking school is situated in a room bordered by windows, atop the tallest building in Lincoln City with picturesque views of Cascade Head and the Pacific Ocean, which is a dangerous distraction when chopping.

Just north on the Pacific Coast Highway in Cannon Beach is the EVOO Cooking School. Located on the town’s bustling main drag, they have courses on everything from artisan bread making to omelets 101 and Thanksgiving Dinner.

Take a cooking course focused on what’s in season at the In Good Taste Store located in the Pearl District and Lake Oswego in Greater Portland. And as a added bonus, each meal is paired with an Oregon wine. Also in the Pearl, Sur La Table has couples cooking classes or a design-your-own option!

Allyson’s Kitchen has locations in Bend and Ashland and offers extended cooking courses for the chef looking to further develop their culinary cache. And in Baker City in Eastern Oregon, Mad Matildas Coffee House is your one stop shop for gastronomic goodness. Coffee, pastries, antique bakeware and cooking classes all take place in this historic shop, located at the foot of Blue Mountains, with the Eagle Cap Wilderness and Hells Canyon in striking distance.

Stay tuned for more exciting news about Oregon Bounty and for an up-close look into the state’s famed chefs and dynamic farms.
