About Ski Oregon

Vision
Ski Oregon will provide coordinated leadership in the development and marketing of snowsports and recreation. Outdoor recreation is an important part of the Oregon life style and an increasingly popular attraction to visitors from outside the state. Snow sports provide a unique and enjoyable way to experience and appreciate the Oregon environment. Helping to protect and enhance the pristine qualities of the Oregon environment and share the enjoyment of skiing are primary Ski Oregon objectives. Ski Oregon members work together to develop and sustain the highest levels of customer service and satisfaction at ski attractions, ski equipment sales, manufacturing establishments and other skier supported services (i. e. lodging, summer ski and snowboard camps, traveler services, food service, etc..) throughout the state. Ski Oregon strives to partner and participate in cooperative ventures with all associations, convention bureaus and visitor centers throughout Oregon. Travel Oregon has been a very strong partner of Ski Oregon. Travel Oregon is also the perfect place to start planning your Ski Oregon vacation!

Mission Statement
The mission of Ski Oregon is to create awareness of and demand for Oregon ski and snowboard industry services and products.

Statement of Purpose
  • Grow Oregon skier visits and related revenue.
Leadership
Ski Oregon is controlled by a Board of Directors. There are 18 seats on the Board, with a pre-designated number to represent the various facets of the industry. Nine seats are held by ski areas, and nine seats are held by non-ski area businesses, such as retail shops and lodging partners. The Board is voted in each year by the membership at the annual meeting.

Membership
The organization is made up of ski areas, ski/snowboard shops, manufacturers, lodging and hospitality services as well as individuals who support the industry. Although diverse in product offering, these businesses come together to form a foundation for a solidified industry. Basically, any business or individual involved, or deriving a portion of income of their snowsport income, in the State of Oregon is eligible membership. For more information on Ski Oregon or Membership opportunities, please contact Karen Siegle or Diana Montgomery at 503-768-4299 or info@skioregon.org.
