Finders Keepers-Lincoln City’s Glass Floats On The Beach

Combing the beach for Japanese fishing floats has been a favorite activity for many through the years. Though finding one of these treasures now days is rare, a new tradition began in the winter of 1999-2000 when the new millennium arrived. Visitors come to Lincoln City from around the globe year after year and comb miles of pristine beaches in search of one of the beautiful hand-blown one-of-a-kind floats, crafted by local artisans.

Floats are placed daily at the high tide line and below beach embankments from mid-October through May. This year 2014 floats will be placed!  For more information or to register a glass float you may have found call the Lincoln City Visitor and Convention Bureau at 1-800-452-2151 or visit http://www.oregoncoast.org/finders-keepers/
