Hundreds of centuries before Lewis & Clark laid eyes on the Pacific Ocean, native peoples explored, hunted, gathered and fished in what today is called Oregon. November 2009 marks the state’s first official celebration of the heritage, culture and contribution of the state’s nine federally recognized tribes. This November, you’ll find many opportunities to experience the tribes’ distinct lifestyles and traditions in Oregon.
