My Travel Journal
Since opening in 1918, Corvallis Country Club has seen several renovations. Although its length has seldom changed it has proven to be a test for even the best of golfers. With tricky greens and tight fairways, Corvallis Country Cub has withstood the advancement of technology. Do not let the scorecard fool you, this course will defeat anyone on their bad day.
These tree lined fairways can be difficult to hit. Surrounded by firs, oaks, pines and many other trees, Corvallis Country Club will be a great test for your tee ball. Although not always necessary elsewhere, hitting the driver straight will prove to be a necessity here. Also, be prepared to have varied lies. Finding a flat lie out here does not happen often.
Do not let the yardage fool you. Although short, this course will penalize you once you reach the green. With an average depth of only twenty six yards these greens can be fairly difficult to hit. Getting to the green is the easy part. The severe undulations make any other courses greens look flat. During the summer a few greens only have several hole locations that may be puttable. Whatever you do, always stay below the hole. And remember, everything wants to break towards Mary's Peak!
