Got an hour or so between classes? Head across the street to our new Corvallis outpost to grab one of McMenamins' signature Oregon Country Beef burgers (and maybe a quick pint of Hammerhead -- we won't tell anyone). Conveniently located just steps away from the OSU campus, this spot has long housed favorite student hangouts, such as the legendary "El" diner. Today, as McMenamins on Monroe, it will be the place to be on Game Day. In fact, the "Beaver Sports Talk with Mike Riley" radio show will broadcast live from the pub every Tuesday from 7 p.m. ‘til 8 p.m. on the Beaver Sports Radio Network! How cool is that?
The McMenamins brothers were among those fearless entrepreneurs who, in 1985, led the movement in Oregon to allow brewers the right to brew and consume in the same location. After a victorious fight at the state capitol, McMenamins opened the Hillsdale Brewery & Public House, Oregons first legal brewpub since Prohibition. Since then, Portland has become one of the premier destinations in the U.S. to enjoy handcrafted microbrews, including those of McMenamins Pubs & Breweries.
