The Antler Trailhead accesses the Yamsay Mountain Semi-Primitive, NonMotorized Area and is the trailhead for the Fremont National Recreation Trail. The Fremont National Recreation Trail is currently still under construction. At this time (2/29/00) users can travel south from Antler Trailhead for 54 miles to the Paisley Ranger District boundary; approximately three and a half miles south of Fremont Point. Construction of the gap between this present southern terminus and Government Harvey Pass is planned for the summer of 2000. Once this is completed the trail will be continuous for a distance of 104 miles from Antler Trailhead to Cox Pass.
Accommodations include five campsites (with tables and fire grills), an accessible outhouse, drinking water (June through October), horse corrals and hitching rails. Activities that are accessed from here include camping, hiking, horseback riding, mountain bike riding and photography.
