The Cannon Beach Historical Society along with the Coaster Theatre will present the 1st Annual Cannon Beach Film festival featuring movies that were filmed locally in Cannon Beach such as The Goonies, Point Break, Kindergarten Cop, Hysterical, 1941, and The Haunting of Sarah Hardy.
The Cannon Beach Film Festival will include four films on Saturday and three films on Sunday. Traditional movie snacks and a raffle drawing will be offered. The film festival will celebrate Cannon Beach’s "15-minutes of fame" in the movies, when film makers took advantage of its unique beauty as a movie backdrop. Whether you are interested in such well-known movies as The Goonies or in sampling lesser-known films such as 1941, come share this fun time with the Cannon Beach community. Both residents and visitors will find the 1st Annual Cannon Beach Film Festival a friendly and festive event.
