The Northwest Civil War Council will present a full reenactment at Ft. Stevens State Park from August 30th through September 1st . This is the largest event of the year for the NCWC and will include as many as 1000 Civil War reenactors presenting living conditions and circumstances of early 1863 as well as battle reenactments each day with artillery, infantry and cavalry. The event, open to the public from 9am to 6pm Saturday and Sunday, and 9am to 2pm on Monday, offers over 7 acres of living history with reenactors in period clothing and uniforms, campsites, and character. Battles are scheduled at 11am and 3pm on Saturday and Sunday, and one battle on Monday at noon. There will also be demonstrations presenting period medical practices each day, music demonstrations, artillery and cavalry demonstrations, a daily fashion show and hundreds of period tents showing a variety of activities that would be found at an 1863 military and civilian campsite. There will also be a Civil War era Church service on Sunday morning at 9:30. Admission is $13 per car and includes the day use fee from the Park Service. Ft. Stevens State park is off of highway 101 near Astoria and Warrenton, then follow the signs to the event.
