Oregon Coast Road Trip

Oregon Coast Road Trip

It’s not too late to get the last squeeze out of summer. We’ve got some great ideas to help you plan one more Oregon summer outing before the trees start changing colors and the kids are back in school.

Spend the night in North America’s largest expanse of coastal sand dunes at Honeyman. Have a picnic overlooking long stretches of golden sand beaches and giant monoliths offshore at Bandon. Or head inland and camp beneath a canopy of Douglas-fir trees at Fort Stevens near the site where Lewis and Clark spent the winter of 1805. It’s all at the coast, and it’s all at our elaborate network of Oregon State Parks. And it’s all so easy.

There are dozens of Oregon State Parks up and down the coast, some of which offer overnight camping and recreation (hiking trails, lakes, sand dunes, boat rentals), while others are meant for day-use purposes, and offer spectacular beachfront picnic sites. If you’re thinking of staying the night, Oregon State Parks online reservation system makes the planning part super easy. Hope to see you at the coast this month! We’ll be there with kites and sand buckets in hand.
