Sandpines Golf Links
Florence, Oregon
My Travel Journal
Nestled amidst wind-swept sand dunes and towering pines, Sandpines Golf Links is a breathtaking location for coastal golf. The Rees Jones- designed course was honored as the “Best New Public Course in America” in 1993. As one of the premier courses in the Northwest, Sandpines received a 4½ star rating from Golf Digest’s list of “Places to Play in the USA.”
The par 72, 7,190-yard course is a true test of the game to golfers of all levels. Both nines incorporate the beautifully rugged canvas that is the Central Oregon Coast. The outward nine is sculpted out of a forest of towering pines and majestic crystal blue lakes reminiscent of those found on the Monterey Peninsula. The inward nine, with its traditional link-style, brings you back to the soul of the game with rolling dunes at the forefront from tee to green.
After your round, the finest in Northwest cuisine awaits you at Tavolo Restaurant and Lounge. Nestle up next to the fire and enjoy sweeping views of Sandpines’ renowned finishing holes while enjoying one of Chef Matt Arnall’s signature dishes. For a more intimate setting make a reservation in the Fireside room, where you and up to 13 of your friends can enjoy the warmth of your own fireplace and panoramic views of Sandpines Golf Links.
“You get an opportunity to design on a property like Sandpines only a few times in a lifetime. In essence, I have a site that’s ideal for golf. I have designed or re-designed four U.S. Open courses. Sandpines will be a course of that caliber,” said Rees Jones, one of the world’s most renowned golf course architects and the designer of Sandpines Golf Links.
