Oregon Coast Outdoor Recreation

Whether you’re watching the mighty Pacific crash into the weathered cliffs and massive, off-shore monoliths overlooking Boardman State Park, or working up a sweat pedaling to Cape Kiwanda, the coast offers a plethora of recreational opportunities. Feed your appetite for adventure by hiking the 360-mile Oregon Coast Trail through miles of sandy beaches, coastal forests and urban areas. Some of the state’s best camping and day-use parks located on the edge of the ocean provide a stunning backdrop for a day of beachcombing, cycling, crabbing, whale watching, storm watching or surfing. And if fishing floats your boat, the coast might well be nirvana. Angling options range from deep-sea excursions for cod, red snapper and sea bass to river fishing for salmon and steelhead.
