Every Saturday at dusk in July and August, families gather atJackson Park with lawn chairs, pillows, picnic blankets -- some even bring sleeping bags and pillows -- to watch popular family movies. The event is free and open to the public and families are allowed to bring their own picnic snacks, but there are also snacks for sale at minimal prices, such as popcorn, hot dogs, hamburgers and pop. The sound system is wonderful and the screen is huge and centered on the large stage. The park has bathrooms and a kids playground with slides, swings, monket bars, etc.. Past movie offerings have been classics such as the early Star Wars movies, ET, the Wizard of Oz, the Princess Bride, along with more recent family movies.
