The Chamber of Commerce announces Geocaching in Pendleton, Oregon – What a Kick! - May 2008 sponsored by; Umatilla County. Kickoff event: Friday Night – Night cache May 2, 7 PM – 11:30 PM at the Pendleton Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center, followed by a no host breakfast the morning of Saturday May 3 where we will have a special drawing just for the kickoff event participants.

Contest continues through the month. Everyone completing all 12 caches during the month will earn the “Official Geocaching in Pendleton, Oregon – What a Kick” Coin and will be entered into the month end drawings including the grand prize drawing.

Geocaching is a modern day version of a treasure hunt with a GPS that originated here in Oregon. There are now over 500,000 geocaches worldwide. Geocaching has become a popular outdoor activity for the whole family. For this contest caches will be hidden both in Pendleton and surrounding areas. True West magazine is supplying several of the caches and has mentioned our event in their Special Travel Edition. All caches will be available online at geocaching.com. Entry forms will be available online as well as in the chamber office.
