Bandit Springs is 49 miles from Prineville. It is the site of 9.6 miles of hiking or cross country ski trails. The largest ponderosa pine in Oregon is located to the right of the restrooms. Bandits robbed a bank and left six horses tied to a log during a rapid escape and never returned for them. Look closely and find the 6 horse skeletons. Open year round.
