The fertile Hood River Valley is one of the largest fruit-growing regions in Oregon, producing pears (30 percent of the nation’s winter pear crop), apples, blueberries and more. In fact, a great way to start tasting your way around this region is by driving the Fruit Loop, a 45-minute tour that involves more than 15,000 acres of fruit trees, roadside stands, farms and decadent treats.
