Mt. Hood/The Gorge Attractions

The serendipitous presence of three of Oregon's unique natural wonders— Multnomah Falls (the nation's second-highest, year-round waterfall), the Columbia River Gorge (the King of Roads) and Mt. Hood (Oregon’s tallest peak)—makes the region a perfect place to start your Oregon journey. Start at the End of the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center, a unique museum with living history presentations, exhibits, artifacts and heirlooms; learn about the area’s geological wonders at the Columbia Gorge Discovery Center, the Vista House, or “wow” the family at the Bonneville Dam, where you count spawning salmon making their trip upstream from an underwater visitor center. Lest we forget, Mt. Hood is home to four ski areas including Timberline Lodge, the only skiing and snowboarding area in North America that's open year-round.
